Adams Day
For our final day of term, Friday 20th October 2006, Welland Park celebrated Adam's life with a Stars In Your Eyes show, selling CD's and hosting a Tombola. This was to raise money for the Adam Smile fund to build a new, safe cycle path from Lubenham to Market Harborough.
Students dressed in red, for the team Adam supported, Arsenal
Events were held at lunchtime, the main event taking place in the Octagonal Hall for the Stars In Your Eyes contest(held Thursday lunchtime as well). A whole range of musical groups performed, including music from High School Musical, Like A Prayer, Cassie and even a performance of "Don't Stop Me Now" from the fantastic five of the Strangled Cats. Later on, Posy Stirling was announced the winner with her unique performance of "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion. Students had a Dress-as-you-please day and wore red in rememberence of Adam's favourite team, Arsenal. Elsewhere, a Tombola was held to raise funds, and CD's of music and poems were sold to help raise money. A very successful day in tribute to our amazing friend. But an overall sum hasn't been comfirmed yet, but hopefully a very big one!
